A Railway Carriage Full of Delights

A unique experience staying in an 18.5m long beautifully converted railway coach located at Wannies Retreat in the heart of Northumberland.

Admire the amazing dark skies from the private viewing platform or simply relax in the hot tub. If you are keen cyclists or walkers and are spending time in the lovely Northumberland countryside we have secure bike storage and a drying room just for you.

On cooler evenings you can cosy up around the firepit whilst toasting marshmallows.

A BBQ is available to sample our delicious home reared beef, lamb and pork and you can also purchase our produce – including fresh eggs for your breakfast.

Annabel and family Fabulous, just fabulous! We had a fantastic stay and really appreciated the little extra touches - you have thought of pretty much everything! The hot tub was fab. Another wonderful time at Wannies, thank you so much Annabel. The daily hot tub soak was so special and we got a clear night to gaze into the boundless and countless stars. Had a great walk up to Hareshaw Linn. Thanks for your brilliant, sparkling hospitality and endless care. And here is to seeing the wooden decorations on the tree next time!

Wow! Thank you so much! We have had such a lovely break, as an ideal retreat. The place is amazing, very special and we love the thoughtful extras. We enjoyed our visit to Kielder Winter Wonderland but would have also been happy to not leave this beautiful place! Watching the stars from the hot tub was just perfect. What a spectacular 2nd stay! The skies were so clear this time. The train, views, surroundings and meat pack we ordered were just stunning! There is everything you can think of for children and adults. We made excellent use of the hot tub, fire pit and BBW. This is our happy place and cannot wait to return.
